Mindless As Mitosis

Ellie made this piece on the first day of Inktober 2019. The prompt was "mindless", which got her thinking about the unconcious, which then led her to think about our autonomic nervous system and even smaller units of action. She reflected on mitosis, which helps us grow, and meiosis, which makes us unique. Both of these phenomena occur automatically, mindlessly, without awareness. Yet, they are such a distinct and crucial aspect of life and the proliferation of it.
